Australians love affair with caravanning and camping takes centre stage this Valentine’s Week when the Victorian Caravan & Camping Supershow transforms Melbourne Showgrounds into a five-day celebration of love for the great outdoors.
First pioneered in 1954, the Supershow run by Caravan Industry Victoria has evolved into the biggest caravan and camping event in the Southern Hemisphere and is fast becoming a global player. Modelled on leading European events such as the world-renowned Düsseldorf show in Germany, the Victorian Supershow is evolving into an international-scale event that attracts attention well beyond Australia’s borders.
Ticket sales in the thousands are being clocked up across the country – from Darwin to Tasmania and even across the Tasman from New Zealand, proving that when it comes to caravanning and camping, all roads truly lead to Melbourne for this mega event.
Swallowing 124,000 square meters of space, the Supershow is now the second largest event held at the Melbourne Showgrounds. There are 215 exhibitors coming, bringing nearly 2,000 RVs, with rolling stock collectively valued at more than $200 million, an extraordinary showcase of innovation, craftsmanship and lifestyle opportunity.
From the most affordable $25,000 caravan pod perfect for first-time buyers, right through to $400,000+ luxury penthouse-on-wheels motorhomes, the Supershow delivers something for every stage of the travel journey.
With many brands unveiling their new 2026 models, this year’s Supershow highlights just how far technology has evolved. With cost‑of‑living pressures front of mind for families, the affordability of caravanning has never been more important or more achievable. Manufacturers have responded by sharpening their value proposition, with a growing range of quality vans now sitting in the $70,000–$100,000 bracket. And when you consider that a single interstate family holiday can cost $5,000–$10,000, investing in a caravan opens the door to hundreds of holidays and countless opportunities to explore every corner of our incredible country.
Beyond the vehicles, the Supershow also connects travellers with the destinations that bring every journey to life. Through the destination pavilion, visitors can discover holiday parks, regional experiences and must-see destinations from across the state and beyond. Tourism bodies and operators will be on hand to inspire road trips, hidden gems and extended stays, turning travel intention into real itineraries.

Recognising the scale of the experience, organisers have introduced a new two-day ticket option, giving visitors the time they need to properly explore the Supershow.
Opening the event on Wednesday is a dedicated parallel Trade Day — an industry event that reinforces the Supershow’s role as both a consumer destination and a critical business platform. Trade Day provides early access to new products, exclusive trade offers and invaluable networking opportunities for dealers, manufacturers and suppliers.

Caravan Trades & Industries Association Victoria (T/A Caravan Industry Victoria (CIV)) has been the voice of Victoria’s caravan and camping industry since 1952, we advocate, represent and support our members to enhance performance and promote the industry. CIV is dedicated to promoting high standards and providing valuable services to its members and the broader community.
Originally formed by a group of caravan manufacturers, hirers and private individuals drawn to the “family lifestyle” caravanning offers, we now have more than 250 members made up of manufacturers, retailers, suppliers and service providers, including caravans, motor homes, fifth wheelers, tent trailers, tents, accessories, relocatable homes, hire facilities, sales and repair services in Victoria.
We represent the needs of our members to industry and government as well as assist with the promotion of their businesses and the industry.
CIV is committed to serving members and ensuring businesses get access to quality research, business and marketing support and the best advice within the sector.
Ninety-three per cent (93%) of the over 31,000 caravans and RVs manufactured in Australia are produced in Victoria, also meaning most industry businesses use Victoria as their source of the supply chain. We own and operate six annual consumer events in Victoria.
