About This Van

2018 Jayco Swift with TV and antena, safety Dave reversing camera, and powered jockey wheel.

The van is in very good condition and has recently had a new battery and bluetooth monitoring system installed.

The Jayco Swift is a bit like Dr Who's Tardis. It's small on the outside but much bigger on the inside.

As reirees, we have found it plenty big enough for the two of us and our dog. We have used it to go north to Queensland and the Northern Territory for the winter.

Being compact when it is closed up, it has much reduced wind resistance, and consequently uses much less fuel when being towed. With the VW Touareg, my fuel consumption averages 7.5 to 8 litres per 100 kms on the open road. This increases to 11 to 12 litres when towing.

With the powered jockey wheel, it is easy to park in tight spaces such as the carport in the backyard - see photos.

The Safety Dave reversing camera is a great help when reversing into a parking spot. It is also useful when towing in that it is like a remote rear view mirror and allows you to see what is going on behind you whilst you are driving.
